The Bombay Bash Box…2011

For their fall fundraiser, The Jamestown Art Center had a large part called the Bombay Bash.  The food was all authentic Indian and the theme was Indian.  Artists were asked to submit “exotic boxes” to be auctioned of in a silent auction.  The box I submitted got quite a bit of bidding.  I later learned that the winning bid went to a family in New York who had someone photo all of the boxes.  They met every competing bid for my box and won it for the highest amount paid for any of the boxes.  Later I had a chance to meet them at their vacation home here in Jamestown, RI.  Since then we’ve been friends.

The box is made from cherry and has a pewter foil inlay.  The inside is lined in green felt.
