Stargazer 2020

Stargazer is made of glazed ceramics.  It measures 19″ tall by 9″ wide.  It is made from wheel thrown forms as well as hand built pieces.

The inspiration for this piece came from the Starship “Avalon” from the movie Passengers.  This is not a copy, but I really wanted to create something similar only in ceramics as opposed to a digitally printed form.  This piece was very difficult to get to the final stages without breaking, serious cracking, or other problems inherent to ceramics.  It was made during the months of 2020 when the entire country was on lock down from the Corona 19 Virus.
